Russians made advances in Donetsk and Kursk regions, but Ukrainian forces also achieved successes (battle maps).

The 1024th day of the full-scale war with Russian occupiers is underway, and recently Ukrainian forces regained lost positions near Svatove (Luhansk region). The Russians have advanced in the main Ukrainian bulge in the Kursk region and around Chasiv Yar, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove.

According to data from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), there is movement of the Russian army in the Kursk region, where an operation by the Ukrainian Defense Forces is taking place. Geolocation footage indicates that the enemy has advanced northwest of Plekhovoye and southeast of Kurilivka (south of Suja).

Ukrainian forces have recently regained lost positions near Svatove in the Luhansk region. Geolocation footage shows that our defenders have recaptured Kopanka (west of Svatove).

At the same time, the Russians have recently made slight advances toward Chasiv Yar. Geolocation footage published on December 12 indicates that the Russians have moved along Lesnaya Street on the western outskirts of Kalynivka (north of Chasiv Yar) and captured the settlement.

Additionally, the Russian army has achieved success south of Pokrovsk. According to recent geolocation footage, the Russians have occupied Novotroitske and moved along the line of the Donetsk railway west of Novo Trud, as well as along Sosnova Street in the west of Shevchenko.

The Russians have also managed to advance in the Kurakhove direction. Geolocation footage shows that the enemy has captured new territories along Nagornaya and Urozhaynaya Streets. According to ISW, the Russian army has achieved further successes south of Kurakhove.

As reported by "Telegraph," the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden chose a different strategy for supplying arms to Ukraine just over a month before leaving the White House. Now, supplies have been accelerated to provide Ukraine with more resources by January 20, 2025.
