Scale at the bottom and on the walls of a kettle is a common issue for many. If not noticed in time, pieces of scale can break off and end up not only in your cup of tea but also in your body.
There is an easy and inexpensive way to tackle the buildup that won't take much time.
To do this, take a packet of citric acid, pour it into the kettle, fill it with water, and bring it to a boil. After it boils, leave the liquid in the kettle for 10 minutes to help the scale loosen from the walls and bottom.
After that, you should pour out the solution and rinse the kettle with water. Rinse multiple times until the smell of citric acid is gone.
Even after the first use of this method, you can notice that the kettle shines like new. If the scale hasn’t completely come off the walls after one treatment, you can add more citric acid and repeat the process.
Vinegar
Another inexpensive method to remove scale is vinegar. Mix a bit of acid with a small amount of water and pour it into the kettle. It needs to be boiled and left to steep for 10 minutes. The acid will quickly eliminate the scale from the walls and bottom, as well as give the device a shine.
These methods are foolproof as they are very effective, inexpensive, and do not take much time.
