Not long ago, lip injections and breast implants were almost mandatory symbols of feminine beauty. However, an increasing number of Ukrainian women are opting to remove implants and fillers, embracing naturalness instead.
Blogging nutritionist Ekaterina Krupkina sparked a wave of discussions on social media when she shared that after 11 years, she decided to have her breast implants removed. According to her, the realization that larger breasts did not make her any happier or more beautiful did not come instantly, but eventually became an "obsessive idea."
This is reported by BBC.
After the surgery, Ekaterina also removed her lip fillers and decided against Botox.
"I hope my action becomes a trend and women can move away from focusing on their appearance," she says.
An increasing number of women are choosing to remove implants. The reasons vary: from health issues to the desire to return to natural shapes. Plastic surgeons confirm that cases of silicone removal are becoming more frequent, and it’s not just a matter of fashion.
In recent years, numerous scandals have emerged surrounding the safety of breast implants.
The trend for fuller lips is also fading
Ukrainian cosmetologists have noted a decrease in demand for lip augmentation. Dermatologist Olga Didyk stated that in December alone, she and her colleagues removed over 30 filler injections from lips, cheekbones, and chins.
"We are finally witnessing a new era – the era of naturalness and healthy skin," the doctor said.
As of 2019, 4.3 million women worldwide had undergone lip enhancement procedures, but the trend for "duck lips" is rapidly declining. The international press is observing a similar trend in Europe and the USA.
A new standard or a temporary trend?
It is currently difficult to say how long this trend will last. The beauty industry continues to evolve, offering new fillers and modern plastic surgery methods. However, it is clear that more and more women are questioning whether they really need it.
Ukrainian women are increasingly choosing natural beauty, and perhaps this is not just another fashion cycle, but a genuine reassessment of feminine beauty.
