The Kyiv Corrugated Paper Mill, owned by the Austrian Pulp Mill Holding led by Dr. Heinz Zinner, is the undisputed leader in the industry for producing sanitary and hygienic products from recycled materials.

As a full-cycle production enterprise, the KCBK offers consumers high-quality, affordable, and well-known toilet paper “Obukhov 65”. This product enjoys constant demand; however, due to the brand's popularity, the market has become flooded with “copies” of questionable quality.

Are unscrupulous competitors “cloning” the products of the Obukhov plant?

Both well-known and no-name manufacturers are mass-producing counterfeit versions of this popular product, using the color palette, fonts, and other elements that make up the identity of the Kyiv Corrugated Paper Mill's products. Such visual similarities can mislead consumers and pose a real threat to their health. The production technologies for these counterfeits do not meet the stated standards and hygiene requirements, and harmful impurities (formaldehydes and heavy metals) may be present in the paper. Unfortunately, in their quest for profits, some retail chains have accepted low-quality toilet paper of dubious origin, thereby contributing to unfair competition.

To protect the brand and consumers from counterfeits, the plant has appealed to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine

The AMC has held accountable companies that violated competition protection laws and imposed significant fines for unfair practices. In particular, sanctions of over 10.7 million UAH were imposed on LLC “DI KARTA Factory” (the cardboard-paper factory "Bumaga-Mal") for the unlawful use of the packaging design “Malin 65 m”, which is similar to the design of products from the JSC “Kyiv Corrugated Paper Mill”.

For KCBK and its owner, quality and eco-friendliness of products are paramount

At the initiative of the Austrian beneficiary Dr. Heinz Zinner, the enterprise systematically undergoes both mandatory and voluntary audits of production processes. During the recycling process, the raw materials are subjected to multi-level purification, including coarse and fine filtration, as well as bactericidal treatment. As a result, the final product that comes into contact with the human body is completely clean and safe for both users and the environment.

How to distinguish the original from the counterfeit? KCBK shares useful tips for consumers

Representatives of the plant recommend that buyers carefully check the label:

  • the inscriptions and ink should be clear and even;
  • the text should not contain spelling or grammatical errors;
  • the fonts should appear neat and not blurred;
  • the correct name and address of the manufacturer should be indicated – Kyiv Corrugated Paper Mill, along with the production date;
  • the product name should be “Obukhov 65” without alterations or distortions.

The Austrian owner Dr. Heinz Zinner emphasizes: the reliable business reputation of KCBK in the market is based on principles of social responsibility, fair competition, transparency in business practices, and adherence to high product quality standards.
