SubscribeA user under the nickname Zelenka on Minfin shared her mother’s issue, who is currently outside of Ukraine. The woman has three accounts with "Oschadbank": a salary account, a credit account, and another one. The salary card has expired, making it unusable abroad. However, the bank continues to deduct 90 UAH monthly: 75 UAH for maintenance and 15 UAH for SMS notifications.
Moreover, the woman has never taken out loans, yet her accounts have already been warned about the potential deduction of funds to cover a "debt".

Both options are inconvenient and expensive, especially in wartime conditions.
Why is this a problem?
The user expresses outrage: why can’t clients close cards online, as is possible with PrivatBank or other banks? In wartime, when many Ukrainians are abroad, such a practice seems outdated and unfair.
What should you know?
Oschadbank indeed does not allow for remote card closure. To do so, you need to:
- Visit the branch where the account was opened in person.
- Provide supporting documents.
If not, you will continue to incur maintenance fees, even if you are not using the card.
