The state-owned PrivatBank is currently facing challenges in issuing new bank cards, which is why clients are advised to continue using their old cards, even if they have expired.

The situation became known through a complaint posted on the "Minfin" portal, where users leave feedback about the performance of financial institutions.

According to one of PrivatBank's clients, his mother, who is a customer at PrivatBank, encountered a problem: after her card expired, she went to a branch to have it reissued, but was denied due to a lack of plastic cards. She was advised to keep using her old card.

"My mother is a client of the bank. Her card has expired. She went to the nearest branch to reissue the card, where she was told that due to the lack of plastic, they would not reissue the card, and she could continue using her current card because of the state of military emergency and so on," noted the reviewer.

Meanwhile, the PrivatBank client complains about the inconveniences his mother faces during transactions: every cashier notes the expired status, and the payment itself is delayed.

PrivatBank has not yet commented on the situation. It is known that PrivatBank has already extended the validity of cards that expired after February 24, 2022. They remain valid for most transactions, including purchases in stores. However, issues may arise when making payments on foreign websites and connecting the card to services with regular subscriptions, as some platforms do not accept such extended cards.
