SubscribeAs reported by the head of the Agency, Sergey Sukhomlin, in an interview with LIGA.net, the social housing will be new and ready for occupancy. The apartments will be owned by local communities, allowing tenants to pay below market rates. The project is inspired by European experiences, where communal housing is actively used to support the population.
"If we offer affordable social housing with a rental price, for instance, at 3000 UAH, it will enable a mother with a child to stay here, work, and build a future in Ukraine," said Sukhomlin.
The project is funded with 400 million euros sourced through international grants and loans. This will not only help resolve housing issues but also retain people in Ukraine. Following the first phase, an expansion is planned, aiming to construct up to a million apartments.

The new buildings will be modern, energy-efficient, 5-10 stories high, featuring apartments with one, two, and three rooms. Local communities will select the projects, allocate land, and connect engineering networks. These will not be old Khrushchyovka apartments, but comfortable homes that meet contemporary standards.
