This was announced by government representative Taras Melnychuk in the Verkhovna Rada, wrote on Telegram.

The bill pertains only to those held in minimum or medium-security colonies, as well as in juvenile correctional facilities. Depending on the circumstances, prisoners may be granted a leave of up to seven days, with an additional three days allowed for travel.

For other prisoners who do not fall under these categories, a short-term leave of one day may be possible, but only under supervision. Interestingly, the costs for security in such cases will be covered either by the prisoners themselves or their families.
