Kharkiv patrol officers have refuted claims about automatic fines for lacking insurance.

The Patrol Police have denied the false information circulating on the internet.

As reported by "Dumka," this was announced in the Telegram channel of the Patrol Police of the Kharkiv region.

"There is information circulating online about the supposed start of automatic recording and fines for drivers lacking 'insurance.' This information is not true,” the statement reads.

According to the patrol officers, there are no legal grounds for implementing the automatic recording system specifically for this violation.

Amendments are needed in the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and in the subordinate regulatory legal acts that govern this issue, where provisions for recording this violation should be included.

The automatic recording system is not yet technically adapted to capture this violation.

The Patrol Police added that this issue will be addressed both technically and normatively, and citizens will be informed in advance about the start of automatic recording of such violations from official sources.

However, the patrol officers reminded that this violation can be recorded during the stop of a vehicle by police officers.
