In the near future, Ukraine is prepared to host the second World Summit. The plan has been developed in collaboration with partners; however, the exact date of the event has not been disclosed.
It has also been revealed that the Russian Federation does not intend to participate in the summit "in any format." This was stated by Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
According to the politician, Russia is being invited to the second World Summit for one reason — they will be presented with "some kind of ultimatum," which is certainly not of interest to the Kremlin.
"I have explained many times that we do not intend to participate in the World Summit, even if we receive an invitation," Lavrov emphasized.
It is worth noting that Vladimir Zelensky previously mentioned an invitation for Russia to the second World Summit. He stressed that this is what world leaders want, but Ukraine does not believe that the Kremlin desires peace and is ready for genuine negotiations.
Recall that initially, Ukraine wanted to organize the second World Summit in November, but it was not possible to hold it by the end of this year. They planned to invite Russia to this event, with Turkey seen as a mediator in the negotiations between the warring parties.
Additionally, Vladimir Zelensky noted that during the meeting, a detailed plan for ending the war, which Ukraine would prepare, would be considered.
Earlier, "Telegraph" reported that from June 15 to 16, Ukraine managed to gather around 100 delegations from different parts of the world at the first World Summit in Switzerland. The final communiqué, which called for nuclear and food security, as well as the return of all abducted children and prisoners of war, was signed by 78 participating states, which the Swiss side called a "good result."
