In Kharkiv region, an arsonist targeting a Ukrainian soldier's vehicle has been apprehended. The Prosecutor's Office has announced charges against the suspect.

A man has been detained in Chuhuiv for setting fire to a vehicle belonging to a Ukrainian defender.

This information was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, according to "Dumka".

According to the prosecutor's office, he used a pre-prepared incendiary mixture to ignite the vehicle, which led to the fire. Subsequently, law enforcement detained the man under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The authorities are currently deciding on a measure of restraint for the suspect, which may involve detention.

At present, the suspect's involvement in this and similar crimes is being investigated, as well as efforts to identify any "curators," likely from the Russian Federation. Following the necessary investigative measures, the man's actions will be legally assessed.

Currently, a 24-year-old man with a prior conviction has been charged with intentionally damaging someone else's property through arson (Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). According to the investigation, on November 20, 2024, in the city of Chuhuiv, a local resident approached a vehicle that had visual signs of a military transport vehicle.
