Starting from 2025, the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt" will officially transition to a contracting system with the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) and will join the unified medical space. This was announced by the press service of "Okhmatdyt" on their official Facebook page, as reported by UNN.

Details

"From the new year, our hospital will operate under the funding rules of the Medical Guarantee Program (MGP) and will provide healthcare services to the population for payment from legal entities and individuals. This is an important step towards a more transparent and efficient system of healthcare service delivery," the notice states.

Among the main changes for patients, the contract provides for free healthcare services: all medical services included in the contracted MGP packages will be provided to patients free of charge from the state budget, provided there is an electronic referral from the treating/family doctor.

Paid healthcare services will be provided:

- for payment from legal entities and individuals;

- without a doctor's referral, except in cases where a referral is not required by law;

- under contracts with legal entities.

It is reported that the inclusion of the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt" in the unified funding system of the NHSU will allow the hospital to operate under clear and uniform rules for all medical institutions in the country, ensuring that patients have a clear understanding of which medical services will be provided for free and what may require payment.

This step will enable the hospital to utilize financial resources more effectively, contributing to an improvement in the quality and accessibility of medical services for children.
