In recent days, Kyiv has seen an increase in air raid alerts due to the threat of ballistic weaponry being used by the enemy from the north. This may be linked to a new offensive operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region.
Ukrainian monitoring channels report this information. It has been noted that Russian forces are launching missile strikes in the border area.
As a result, when launches of ballistic missiles from operational-tactical missile systems are detected, air raid alerts are declared in several regions, including Kyiv.
It is worth mentioning that only on Friday, January 3, the alert was declared in the capital 6 times. In most instances, it lasted about 30 minutes.
On Sunday, January 5, when the Armed Forces of Ukraine began offensive actions, alerts were declared 3 times. In all cases, there was a threat of ballistic weapon usage.
On Monday, January 6, air raid alerts were again declared in Kyiv. This was due to the threat of ballistic weaponry being used by Russian forces.
Recall that on January 5, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched an offensive in the Kursk region. They advanced in the area northeast of Sudzha, moving towards Bolshoye Soldatskoye.
