Thirteen automatic rifles were brought to the police near Kharkiv.

As part of the weapons declaration program, residents brought over 30 firearms to the Chuguev police department.

Since the start of the firearms declaration procedure, citizens have approached the Chuhuiv District Police Department's weapons control sector to declare 32 firearms and 1,280 cartridges.

As reported by "Dumka," this information was shared by the communication department of the Main Department of the National Police of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.

Law enforcement officials stated that residents of Chuhuiv have registered 13 automatic rifles, one pistol, four carbines, and 14 units of smoothbore firearms.

The weapons are being brought to the police as part of a new law that came into effect on November 25, 2024. This law pertains to the voluntary declaration or surrender of firearms that were found or acquired by citizens during martial law.

Authorities remind citizens that those who have found or received firearms and ammunition and plan to store and use them legally should call the special line "102" or visit the nearest police station to declare such weapons. Additionally, these firearms can be voluntarily surrendered to police units.

To declare a weapon, it is necessary to have a set of documents: a written application; passport; identification code; a certificate of residence/registration; and a photo 3.5x4.5 cm.
