Despite daily shelling, Kharkiv continues its recovery — this year, plans are in place to reconstruct 160 houses.
This was announced during a telethon by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, as reported by "Dumka".
According to him, 100 residential buildings were constructed in 2024, and an additional 160 are planned for 2025. However, these plans are contingent on funding sourced from the city and state budgets, as well as support from international partners.
"Our primary goal is to bring people back to Kharkiv. We are actively restoring residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and infrastructure by pooling resources from all available sources," Terekhov emphasized.
The mayor specifically highlighted the "energy island" project, which is being implemented thanks to investments from foreign partners. This initiative aims to decentralize energy systems to ensure the city's uninterrupted operation even during enemy attacks.
Despite the challenging conditions, Kharkiv demonstrates resilience and is gradually reviving after the Russian aggression.
