Germany has proposed a new Ramstein meeting. When will it take place and at what level?

Currently, negotiations are underway regarding the format of the meeting, which may include participation at the leadership level with the involvement of U.S. President Joseph Biden.
В Германии предложили организовать новый Рамштайн: когда он пройдет и на каком уровне?

In Germany, an additional meeting of the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine (the "Ramstein" format) may take place this December. One option being considered is high-level negotiations involving the leaders of the participating countries.

This was stated in Kyiv by the head of the special staff for Ukraine at the German Ministry of Defense, Bundeswehr General Christian Freuding, as reported by "European Truth". He mentioned that discussions are ongoing regarding the format of the meeting, including the possibility of involving U.S. President Joseph Biden.

"I hope that in December, around Christmas, there will be a 'Ramstein' meeting with the outgoing Biden administration. There is a discussion about the level at which this meeting can take place — whether at the leaders' level or at the defense ministers' level,” said the general.

According to Freuding, the change in the U.S. presidency in January is not an issue, nor is the change in the executive branch. He believes that it will actually help solidify the commitment to maintain aid supplies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The general also emphasized the importance of an in-person meeting rather than a virtual one.

"We support the idea that this 'Ramstein meeting' should be held in an offline format — regardless of what level of representation is agreed upon. We are convinced that a meeting before the change of the U.S. government would be very beneficial and would send a clear signal to partner countries that we will continue our support for Ukraine regardless of what happens in the U.S.,” he summarized.

It is worth noting that on Sunday, October 13, it became known that the previously scheduled meeting of the contact group on Ukraine's defense issues (the "Ramstein" format) with the participation of country leaders will not take place. The reason for this is that U.S. President Joe Biden's visit to Europe will be shortened. According to the released information, President Biden plans to arrive in Germany for a visit on Thursday (October 17).

As known, on October 12, Joe Biden was supposed to chair a meeting at the level of leaders of the countries and governments of the contact group for assistance to Ukraine — the "Ramstein" format. However, due to the approaching hurricane "Milton" towards the coast of Florida, he canceled his trip to Europe.

Later, it became clear that the "Ramstein" meeting is postponed to a yet-to-be-determined date. "Telegraph" learned from political scientist Vladimir Fesenko why the "Ramstein" meeting was actually postponed.
