In Kharkiv, plans are underway to repaint public transport. The reason behind this initiative is yet to be announced.

The municipal transport in the city of Kharkiv is gradually being standardized to a unified color scheme.

This information was shared by the Kharkiv City Council, citing the Director of the Department of Construction and Road Management, Dmitry Lipovoy, as reported by "Dumka".

According to him, in 2021, at the initiative of the city mayor Igor Terekhov, red was approved as the primary color for transport in Kharkiv, which will contribute to enhancing road safety.

As a result, 150 municipal buses that were previously purchased by the city now comply with the approved standard. The color standard is also being implemented in the metro. As part of scheduled repairs, one of the metro trains has been repainted. Soon, it will begin operating on the Kholodnohirsko-Zavodskaya line.

The process of unifying all transport will be lengthy.

"Trams fit well into this solution as they have a red and yellow color scheme. During the ongoing restoration of other surface transport, all vehicles, including trolleybuses, will also be repainted," noted Lipovoy.
