In Lozova, Kharkiv region, the utility company "Teploenergo" has signed a contract with the winner of the tender for the construction of a gas pipeline and five new boiler houses.
This was reported by Lozova's city mayor, Sergey Zelensky, as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to the mayor, the contract includes the replacement of the old and energy-consuming system on Svobody Street, which has been in operation for nearly 60 years.
"The contractor aims to complete the work by 2025. Even under the best conditions, the old system will remain in place for the transitional period,” added Zelensky.
He noted that the main goal of the project is to save energy resources and enhance the quality of heating. Currently, the heat carrier from the old boiler house travels a distance of 3 kilometers to the nearest consumer.
Furthermore, following enemy shelling, the transition to smaller boiler houses has become critically important. The central facility has repeatedly suffered from Russian missiles.
The heating specialists are coordinating with the contractors and the project management team regarding the cost of the work. The community has managed to attract partners who provided expensive equipment, allowing for a reduction in obligations.
The project "Modernization of the Centralized Heating Supply System in the City of Lozova" is being implemented under the Municipal Infrastructure Development Program of Ukraine, funded by the European Investment Bank. The loan program is set for a duration of 22 years and will be executed through savings on energy resources.
