In Kharkiv region, a man stole a mobile phone from an acquaintance.

This was reported by the communication department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv region, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the police, on December 26, a local resident approached the Izium police station.

The man informed the officers that his mobile phone was missing.

The police discovered that the victim had been robbed while visiting his friend.

The perpetrator, who was renting a room from the victim, took advantage of the situation and stole the phone when the victim stepped out of the room for a few minutes.

The mobile phone was seized by law enforcement and returned to its owner.

In connection with this incident, investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 185 (theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The man faces a prison sentence of 5 to 8 years.
