On Monday, January 6, the Epiphany bathing takes place according to the New Julian calendar. Dozens of residents gathered to traditionally immerse themselves in the icy water.

The blessing of the water and the Epiphany bathing continues at Lanzheron beach near the Two Balls. This is reported by “Dumskaya”.

Photos and videos from the beach have surfaced on social media. Despite the relatively warm weather that day, there aren't many people eager to take a dip in the icy water.

Additionally, guests at the "Nemo" hotel pool also chose to honor the annual tradition by swimming in the cold water.

Note: In the Orthodox Church, the Feast of the Epiphany is considered one of the twelve most important holidays of the year (referred to as the Twelve Great Feasts) and concludes the festive season. On this day, one of the most popular Ukrainian traditions is bathing in a body of water blessed by priests.

Some believe that the holy water has the power to "cleanse them of their sins."

We remind you that correspondent “Telegraph” Yan Dobronosov visited the Epiphany celebration near the Holy Protection Cathedral in Obolon, Kyiv, and reported on the events of that day. Many were gathered to take a plunge into the hole in the ice.
