Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Ryabkov outlined the conditions under which the Russian Federation would agree to negotiations to end the war against Ukraine. According to him, this is only possible under the terms that were articulated by the head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in June, "with adjustments based on developments on the ground since then."
He emphasized that the U.S. and the West must acknowledge that there is allegedly no alternative to Putin's June proposal. The words of the Putin supporter are quoted by Russian media.
"If they persist in their misconceptions and insist on some falsely understood schemes, and escalate the situation with aid and weaponry, provoking Kyiv into further provocations and criminal actions, then, of course, there will be no basis for negotiations. The choice is theirs, and it is quite simple and binary — either accept what Putin has proposed, or remain where they are now, with the prospect of further worsening of the situation for them," Ryabkov cynically stated.
Recall that in June 2024, Putin outlined the conditions for peace negotiations and the cessation of hostilities. He demanded the "complete withdrawal" of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. At that time, the head of the Russian Federation emphasized that this pertains to the entire territory of these regions, not just the parts occupied by Russia. He also demanded that Ukraine abandon its NATO aspirations. The dictator's appetites do not end there — he also sought the lifting of sanctions on Russia. Additionally, he reiterated his usual "incantations": "our goal is a neutral, non-aligned, non-nuclear status for Ukraine, its demilitarization, and denazification."
As reported by "Telegraph," the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrey Yermak outlined two conditions for initiating negotiations with Russia. The first is the willingness of both parties to cease hostilities. Furthermore, the situation must be reverted to at least the state it was in on February 23, 2022.
