Ukraine is receiving modern drones from allies and is also developing them independently. Among the latest unveiled developments is a vertical takeoff and landing drone from Buntar Aerospace.
The characteristics of this drone were reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine during the Warchangers program. The primary mission of the "Buntar" is real-time reconnaissance and artillery fire adjustment. Its main advantage is communication stability.
This was highlighted during tests in the Kharkiv region. Among the feedback received is its high efficiency, achieving results in 100 minutes of flight, compared to similar reconnaissance drones which require three hours in the air. One of its unique features is the Buntar-coPilot proprietary software "which automates the operator's tasks and reduces the loss of drones, plus it provides situational awareness for more effective mission execution."
The tactical range of the Buntar-1 is approximately 50 kilometers, with a total flight range exceeding 80 km. The drone operates reliably in electronic warfare conditions and can be quickly folded and unfolded.
Learning to operate such a drone takes a significant amount of time—three weeks without prior training. For training an experienced crew, only three days are necessary. The "Buntar" was tested through Brave1. Based on the first Buntar-1, a model three is already in development, which will extend flight time to three hours while maintaining stable radio communication.
Previously, "Telegraph" reported on Ukrainian developments as a replacement for the civilian Chinese drone "Mavic". The new drones have already been created for warfare.
