On Sunday, December 29, an air quality deterioration is expected in Zaporizhzhia. Residents of the city may experience unpleasant odors due to unfavorable weather conditions.
This information is reported by the press service of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration. They noted that, according to the regional meteorological center, from 8:00 PM on December 28 to 8:00 PM on December 29, meteorological conditions conducive to high air pollution are anticipated in the city.
This may lead to the accumulation of harmful substances in the lower atmosphere, particularly with unpleasant odors.
To mitigate the negative impact on the environment, the Department for Environmental Protection of the Regional State Administration urged local enterprises to reduce emissions. The Regional State Administration emphasized that measures to cut emissions during adverse meteorological conditions are stipulated in the current permit for pollutant emissions into the atmosphere from stationary sources.
Moreover, the population was advised to follow hygiene safety rules during this time frame. Citizens were advised to avoid prolonged outdoor stays, keep windows closed, and drink plenty of fluids.
It is worth noting that according to data from the SaveEcoBot service, air quality in Zaporizhzhia is currently within normal limits. However, the situation may change.
We remind you that on Sunday, December 29, heavy fog is expected in Kyiv, leading to limited visibility on the city's roads and streets. Residents and visitors of the capital are warned about hazardous meteorological phenomena — a yellow level of danger has been declared in the capital.
