Ukrainians are voicing widespread complaints about the alert system for Russian attacks. On Thursday, November 28, air raid sirens were activated for many regions starting from the night due to the threat of "Shahed" strikes. There was no repeated alert, causing many to miss the onset of the Russian missile attack.
The areas marked in darker colors on the air raid alert map indicate regions where alarms had been ongoing since the night. In these regions, residents were effectively unaware of the missile threat as they were asleep, and the Air Forces did not issue a follow-up alert regarding the missile threat.
9In western Ukraine, as well as in the south and east, alerts were issued due to missile threats. In other regions, including Kyiv, alerts continued through the night, leading people to miss the beginning of the missile strikes, including those involving "Kalibr" missiles.
On social media, Ukrainians are actively expressing their dissatisfaction with this situation. They suggest that a repeated air raid signal should be issued in such cases.
"This is a major mistake. A repeat alert is necessary," "We need a second alert because people are asleep and unaware that besides Shaheds, missiles are also incoming (in regions where the alert has been ongoing for a long time)," "Good morning to everyone who just woke up. You missed the Kalibrs, and now we expect missiles from the TU-95MS," they write online.
