In the war against Ukraine, Russian footballer and FC "Fakel" (Kirish, Leningrad region) coach Vladimir Fedorov lost his life. Recently, Ukrainian forces eliminated former Russian national team player Alexey Bugayev, who went to the so-called "special military operation" straight from prison.

The news of Fedorov's death was reported by 47channel.ru. He had been coaching at FC "Fakel" since 2016.

"Vladimir Viktorovich played for the team, was a good coach and professional, and trained many footballers; everyone loved and respected him. The club "Fakel" will always remember his contributions", — stated the regional Football Federation.

Additionally, it was noted that the invader was buried in the city of Kotovo in the Volgograd region.

As a reminder, after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, all Russian clubs and national teams have been banned from international competitions until further notice from FIFA and UEFA. In the fall of 2023, UEFA sought to reinstate Russia's women's and men's youth national teams (U-17) to the international stage, but under the threat of a boycott from European countries, the Union maintained the ban.
