After the incident at the entrance to the "Historical Museum" station, a resident of Kharkiv reported explosives, facing up to 8 years in prison.
This information was provided by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, as reported by "Dumka."
A 20-year-old resident of Kharkiv found himself in the dock due to a false police report about a bomb threat at the "Historical Museum" metro station. The incident occurred in July 2024 after metro staff denied him entry due to his intoxication.
Seeking revenge, the young man asked a passerby for a phone, called "102," and claimed that the metro station was mined. Law enforcement quickly arrived at the scene and checked the premises. No explosive devices or hazardous materials were found during the inspection.
The police swiftly identified the caller, who was subsequently detained. According to information from the Kyiv District Prosecutor's Office, the man is charged under part 2 of Article 259 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for knowingly making a false report of a bomb threat.
The indictment has already been sent to the Kyiv District Court of Kharkiv. If found guilty, the man faces up to eight years of imprisonment.
