Russia has supplied North Korea with oil in exchange for weapons and soldiers. How much fuel has Kim received?

British analysts believe that Pyongyang benefits significantly more from deals with Russia than Russia does.
Россия передала Северной Корее значительное количество нефти в обмен на оружие и военные кадры. Сколько именно топлива было поставлено?

Starting from March 2024, the Russian regime has delivered over one million barrels (approximately 56 thousand tons) of oil to North Korea. This is one of the ways the Russians are compensating the North Korean regime for weaponry, and more recently, for manpower provided.

This was reported by the British publication BBC, citing data from the Open Source Centre research institute. The center conducted an analysis of satellite images and identified at least 43 voyages made by sanctioned North Korean tankers to Russian ports, including an oil terminal in the Russian Far East.

All vessels returned to North Korean ports loaded with Russian oil. The first documented voyage took place on March 7, 2024, seven months after the initial reports of North Korean ammunition supplies to Russia, while the last documented voyage was on November 5, 2024.

The fact that the Kremlin is paying North Korea for providing weapons, ammunition, and manpower for the war in Ukraine has been confirmed by British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and several British experts. According to them, Pyongyang is receiving more than Russia.

"The constant influx of oil provides North Korea with a level of stability not seen since the imposition of sanctions," noted senior analyst at the Open Source Centre Joe Byrne in a comment to the publication.

Let us remind you that earlier, "Telegraph" reported that North Korea is capable of sending many more soldiers to Russia, as relations between North Korea and Russia continue to strengthen. Some officials suggest that their numbers could reach up to one hundred thousand.

As previously reported, North Korea has already sent ballistic missiles to Russia, but recently, there have also been sightings of the transfer of heavy artillery and MLRS. In total, this involves at least 70 units of equipment.
