Following the sharp increase in transportation costs in Kyiv, regions are also reevaluating their tariffs. This is particularly true in the frontline city of Mykolaiv.
Local publications report that starting March 1st, the fare for electric transport in Mykolaiv will rise. The issue is set to be officially discussed at the executive committee meeting on February 26th. If a decision is made, from March 1st, the cost of a trip will be 10 hryvnias for cash payments and 8 hryvnias when paying via QR code.
The fare for payments made via QR code will only increase by 1 hryvnia, which, according to the head of the utility company, is part of a strategy to reduce cash circulation. The previous increase in electronic tariffs by 1 hryvnia resulted in a threefold rise in cashless payments, and the company hopes this trend will continue.
Earlier, "Telegraph" reported on the rise in transportation costs in Lviv — a unified price of 25 UAH for all public transport has been established, with cashless payments set at 15 UAH and 13 UAH when using Leocard. Transportation costs have also increased in other cities across the country.
