The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the head of SpaceX, Elon Musk, jointly attended the sixth launch of the reusable Starship rocket. This suggests that Musk is continuing to solidify his influence within the circle of the new U.S. president.
According to Associated Press, Musk spent two weeks at Trump's estate in Mar-a-Lago, but it now seems to be Musk's turn to host the president.
On November 19, both visited the SpaceX launch site at "Boca Chica" near the Mexican border, from which the Starship was launched. During the visit, Trump attentively listened to explanations about how the test launch would work and watched the rocket launch. It did not go perfectly: the booster did not return to the launch site as it did in October, but instead fell into the Gulf of Mexico.
However, the publication notes that Trump's presence demonstrates Musk's significant influence in the new president's circle, which could have serious implications for American domestic and foreign policy. Not to mention that Musk is increasingly intervening in the operations of the U.S. government.
It is worth noting that Musk is already causing irritation among Trump's circle by behaving "as if he is co-president." The billionaire rarely leaves the Mar-a-Lago residence and constantly interferes with the transition team's work.
Recently, Trump appointed Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy as heads of the new Department of Government Efficiency. This occurred after the billionaire endorsed Trump in the elections.
Recall that earlier, "Telegraph" reported that Musk participated in a conversation between Trump and Zelensky. The billionaire is becoming a very influential figure in the administration of elected President Donald Trump.
