In the U.S., there's no opposition to Ukraine negotiating with Russia, but ultimately, only one person can make that decision (video).

A representative from the U.S. State Department made several significant statements.
В США поддерживают переговоры Украины с Россией, но считают, что решение может принять только один человек (видео).

The USA will support Ukraine if it wishes to enter into peace negotiations with the Russian Federation. However, the final decision to initiate a "dialogue" with the Russian Federation must be made solely by Vladimir Zelensky.

At the same time, Moscow will likely agree to enter negotiations only on its own terms and not otherwise. This was stated by U.S. State Department representative Matthew Miller during a press briefing.

"If President Zelensky decided to enter into negotiations with the Russian Federation regarding a peaceful resolution of the conflict, we would definitely support him. But this must be solely the desire of Vladimir Zelensky and no one else," the statement reads.

Furthermore, U.S. State Department representative Matthew Miller emphasized that Putin currently shows no willingness to engage in "fair" peace negotiations. Moscow may only agree to end the war on its own terms and will continue to "push" its agenda until the end.

"We have not seen any evidence that Putin is willing to disengage from the war on terms other than those he has laid out. I am confident that he has not abandoned his goal of capturing as much Ukrainian territory as possible," Miller stated.

The U.S. government is also continuing to work on ensuring that the aid allocated by Congress to Ukraine is disbursed before Joe Biden leaves the presidency.

This indicates that the states are not "pushing" the issue of Ukraine to the back burner and continue to provide us with all necessary assistance.

Recall that Putin has stated that peace in Ukraine is only possible if we completely withdraw troops from four regions: namely, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk.

Thus, a document has surfaced online that allegedly contains Russia's initial proposals for a peace treaty with Ukraine, drafted at the very beginning of the full-scale invasion. It reveals the objectives that the "special military operation" set for Putin in the early days of the war. Its text is significantly harsher than in a later version that had previously leaked online.

Earlier, "Telegraph" reported that Ukraine and Russia have been conducting strictly confidential negotiations for some time, discussing possible concessions. The talks are taking place at the level of political advisors to the leaders of the states, with meetings held in Copenhagen, Kyiv, Malta, Davos, and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia – in the latter case, representatives from China were present.
