A criminal group in Kharkiv assisted individuals in evading conscription by obtaining fake disability certificates for traveling abroad, with one of its members currently on the run.
This was reported by the head of the investigative department of the National Police in Kharkiv region, Sergey Bolvinov, as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to him, a criminal group was exposed in Kharkiv region that organized the illegal issuance of disability certificates for men of conscription age, enabling them to escape mobilization and leave the country. The group consisted of two elderly women, a lawyer, and a previously convicted organizer.
As reported by law enforcement, each member played a specific role. The lawyer sought clients wishing to avoid service, the women utilized their connections in medical institutions to arrange fake treatments and obtain counterfeit certificates, while the 55-year-old organizer managed the scheme and distributed the funds.
Through this scheme, dozens of men illegally received second or third group disability status, allowing them to cross the border during mobilization.
Investigators have already conducted searches at the district medical and social expert commission linked to the case. The organizer and one of the women are in custody without the right to bail, while another accomplice is under round-the-clock house arrest. Meanwhile, the lawyer suspected of attracting clients has vanished and did not appear at the court hearing. He is currently wanted.
