A resident of Izium, who voluntarily agreed to work for the occupying administration during the Russian occupation, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
This information was reported to "Dumka" from the verdict of the Dzerzhynskyi District Court of Kharkiv.
According to the investigation, the man joined an illegal law enforcement agency created by Russian military forces in June 2022. He held the position of an operative investigator in the criminal investigation department, conducting interrogations of local residents, searches, and responding to citizens' appeals.
After the liberation of Izium in September 2022, the man attempted to remain in the city but was exposed. The court found him guilty of aiding the aggressor state and sentenced him to 12 years of imprisonment, along with a ban on holding positions in law enforcement agencies. The convicted individual's property will be confiscated.
