В ТРЦ "Никольский" мошенник выдал бижутерию за золото и обманул продавца.

In Kharkiv, a man with a history of multiple convictions passed off a cheap ring as gold and swindled money from a shop assistant, resulting in a court-imposed fine of 51,000 UAH.

This information was reported to "Dumka" from the ruling of the Kyiv District Court of Kharkiv.

According to the registry, the incident occurred on December 16, 2024, at the "Nikolskiy" shopping mall. At approximately 7:00 PM, the previously convicted resident of Mala Danilivka entered the "TechnoIzhak" store, where the victim worked. Posing as an employee of a neighboring store, he asked the woman to lend him 3,620 UAH, promising to return the money in 25 minutes.

To demonstrate his "honest intentions," the man left a ring made of yellow metal as collateral, claiming it was gold. In reality, it was costume jewelry worth significantly less than the amount given. Unaware of the deception, the victim agreed to the transaction, but she never received her money back.

The court found the man guilty of fraud (part 2 of article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and ordered him to pay a fine of 51,000 UAH. Additionally, he will have to reimburse the state over 6,000 UAH for the costs of the expert examination. The ring will be returned to its rightful owner as material evidence.
