A cyclone is approaching Kharkiv region, bringing heavy precipitation in the form of wet snow.
This was reported by the Infrastructure Recovery and Development Service in Kharkiv region, citing meteorologists, as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to meteorologists, the inclement weather is moving towards Kharkiv region from the Poltava and Dnipro regions.
"Snow is expected to begin today around 8 PM. Initially, the cyclone will cover the southwestern part of the region, and then it will spread across the entire territory," the message states.
Precipitation, at times heavy, will last throughout the night, with a slight decrease in intensity expected in the morning, and the bad weather is forecasted to leave Kharkiv region on Friday, January 24.
The air temperature will hover around zero, which may lead to the formation of ice on the roads.
Therefore, road workers urge drivers to be cautious behind the wheel, choose a safe speed, adhere to traffic rules, and not obstruct the work of special vehicles.
"Contracted organizations of the Recovery Service in Kharkiv region are fully prepared for the worsening weather - passage on state roads will be ensured," the Recovery Service concluded.
