Renaming in Kharkiv: Activists are calling for the replacement of Khmelnytsky with Mazepa.

In Kharkiv, activists are requesting to name a boulevard in honor of Hetman Mazepa.

During the process of decommunization/decolonization, there is not a single object in Kharkiv named after Ivan Mazepa.

This was reported in the Telegram channel "Decolonization. Ukraine," as conveyed by "Dumka."

According to the organization, activists have sent a letter to the city council requesting to rename Bohdan Khmelnytsky Boulevard in honor of Hetman Mazepa to avoid duplication.

"In Kharkiv, there is duplication that significantly degrades the quality of life for residents. Specifically, there are both a street and a boulevard named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky, located in different parts of the city, which greatly complicates navigation and causes a fair amount of confusion," the activists wrote.

Activists are urging the Kharkiv City Council to bring this issue to public discussion.
