On November 29 in Kharkiv, the Chervonozavodsky Court issued a verdict for Kola Kharkivsky, who caused a fatal traffic accident on October 6, 2021.
This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, according to "Dumka."
According to the prosecutor's office, criminal proceedings have been initiated against the parents of the offender under Article 166 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The criminal proceedings against the mother of the traffic accident perpetrator have been suspended due to her being wanted.
Reference. Article 166. Malicious failure to fulfill obligations for the care of a child or a person under guardianship or custody is punishable by restriction of freedom for a period of two to five years or imprisonment for the same term.
Recall, on October 26, 2021, around 20:40, a collision occurred at the intersection of Gagarin Avenue and Odessa Street between a Chevrolet Aveo, driven by a 58-year-old man, and an Infinity Q50 driven by a 16-year-old driver, who ran a red light. As a result of the accident, the driver of the Chevrolet Aveo died at the scene.
On November 29, the court issued a sentence – 8 years of imprisonment. The offender is also required to pay one million hryvnias to the children of the deceased.
