In Kharkiv, a man sought revenge on his neighbor by opening fire; he is now set to face trial.

A man will be tried in Kharkiv for opening fire and damaging someone else's car after receiving a remark.

This information was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the prosecutor's office, on December 23, 2024, around 12:00 PM, a resident of one of the apartments in a building located on Aerospace Avenue began throwing items out of his window. This act was witnessed by his neighbor, who was in the yard. The man made a remark to the offender, who then started to curse at him.

In retaliation for the remark, the perpetrator retrieved a Flobert revolver, which he had stored in his apartment, and fired three shots in the direction of his neighbor. While cursing, the man continued his actions by dropping a heavy object onto a Hyundai Tucson parked in the yard, which belonged to the victim, thereby damaging the windshield.

Law enforcement identified the vandal, who was at the scene of the incident and apprehended him. In the suspect's home, cannabis and a special device for its consumption were found and seized.

The suspect has been placed in custody. He faces up to seven years in prison. An indictment against the 36-year-old man has already been submitted to the court for acts of hooliganism committed using an object specially adapted for causing bodily harm, and for the illegal possession of narcotic substances without intent to sell (Part 4 of Article 296 and Part 1 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
