In Kharkiv, under the rubble of a shelled high-rise building in Saltivka, there may be two individuals - a man and a child.
This was stated in a comment to journalists by Artem Astakhov, the head of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, as reported by "Dumka."
According to him, preliminary reports suggest that two people are trapped under the rubble of the high-rise in Saltivka. These are a man and a child.
Astakhov noted that there is always hope of finding survivors; however, on the evening of October 30, rescuers held a "minute of silence," attempting to listen for cries and movements of people beneath the debris. A special electronic device, a vibrophon, was used to locate individuals.
He emphasized that the vibrophon can even detect breathing and heartbeats.
"Unfortunately, we did not record any signs of life," Astakhov stated.
The head of the State Emergency Service added that there is currently a risk of slab collapse, and experts are conducting an assessment, after which a decision will be made on how to proceed with the operation.
Let us remind you that yesterday, October 30, around 22:45, the occupiers dropped a guided aerial bomb on a residential nine-story building in the Saltivskyi district of Kharkiv. The projectile struck between the 2nd and 3rd floors, resulting in the collapse of nearly the entire entrance – from the 1st to the 6th floor.
