A woman who ordered the murder of her former partner will be tried in Kharkiv.
This was reported by the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office, as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to the prosecutor's office, a case has been sent to court concerning a 55-year-old woman for organizing the preparation of a premeditated murder, committed for mercenary motives and by order (part 3 of article 27, part 1 of article 14, paragraphs 6, 11 of part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
In August 2024, the woman from Kharkiv decided to order the murder of her ex-husband to inherit his real estate. Through acquaintances, she found a hitman.
She provided the killer with the details and residence of her ex-husband in Kharkiv. As payment, the suspect promised to transfer one of her apartments to the hitman.
Additionally, she asked the man to send a message saying "Let's get to know each other" via the "Viber" messenger, which indicated the successful completion of the murder. The hitman executed everything as planned.
On September 9, 2024, law enforcement invited the suspect to inform her of her ex-husband's "death." In front of prosecutors and investigators, the woman began to cry and "could not believe" that he had been shot dead. However, she was even more surprised when, after her tears, the authorities detained her under article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation and informed her of the suspicion.
"Thanks to the coordinated actions of law enforcement, a contracted murder was prevented. Everything she learned was a simulation of a crime. The suspect was placed in custody without the right to bail. The accused will be tried in the Dzerzhinsky District Court of Kharkiv," the prosecutor's office noted.
The penalty under this article provides for imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years or life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the investigative unit of the Kharkiv Regional Police Department No. 3.
